Settling in a green environment like the Himalayas—forming a community / travel group.

I have a dream

My dream is to shift to an unpolluted green environment and live in accordance with nature.

Please click on this link below to read the article-- Living amidst Nature:

I plan to form a group of people with whom I can travel to find out a suitable place to settle and on the way we can visit places of interest, ancient temples —it could indeed be a journey of a lifetime.

Whenever I have thought of something in the past it has always come out true but many a times I have not put the thought / idea into practice and lost the opportunity; this time I want to fulfill my dream of moving out of the city and live in harmony with nature.

Anyone with similar ideas are more than welcome to join.

  1. WOW!!! My dream exactly. This is what i have been thinking and talking about. God made villages, mountains, trees, forests, rivers.... People converted them into cities and destroyed everything. Everything needed to live a comfortable life is possible in a village living sustainably in harmony with nature. A group of people can get together and form an eco-friendly community. Vedic knowledge is the key to everything.

By the way have u visited Capt. Ajit Vadakayil's blog? His knowledge is awesome.

    1. Thank you very much, if you would like to have information regarding travelling you can ask me any specific questions.

If it is regarding settling or second home you have to first find a suitable place for which you will have to travel

I have similar ideas and as written in the blog I am trying to make a group of like-minded people.

So many people have this wish but unable to proceed ahead

I am planning to visit Uttarakhand in October myself, with my son. I have not finalised the place...either Kausani, nagtibba or any other remote place that i come to know of before that.

Kausani is famous for Himalayan landscape, I stayed in the KMVN guest house, if you would like to see the photos I can send by e mail, nagtibba is a trek
You may also consider Badrinath, which would not be crowded in October
You have a very sweet son

  7. Namaste,

I have been to uttarakhand twice(october 2014 & october 2016). Both times i stayed in Anamay Ashram in Kausani. I might stay at the same place and explore a little bit more of other places or I might go to some other place this time if I come across some place interesting till then. I have not decided yet.
Yes, Please send me some photos. My email address is self_15@yahoo.com
Will Badrinath be difficult with my son? he is 6 years old.

    Regards,
    Prachi

I thought you would be travelling for the first time to kausani that is why I offered to share some photos, but you have already visited the place
Badrinath is connected by a motorable road, people even bring their infant children, just break your journey in-between
I have seen so many people taking small children on trekking routes too

    1. No I am not aware; groups who do organic farming / natural village stays etc are out to make money
Everyone wants a READYMADE Vedic village where they can start staying in harmony with nature
No one wants to form a group, search for a place, cultivate the land, plant seeds and set up a Vedic lifestyle

  9. Namaste,

I see your point. Not many people who have the resources, actually want to take the initiative. Most are just trying to make money from organic farming. But maybe that is just a start. Probably love for natural living will eventually lead people to just do it by coming together. I still think there must be some communities in remote villages...

    1. Yes, there are communities like this one
Only thing regarding plotted spaces is there is no scope to expand in future, better to have own land

  11. Namaste,

Unfortunately, I have to cancel my plans for this october. My son fell last saturday and has hurt his elbow. His arm is bandaged. I will have to make plans later after he is fine.

    1. Aman, there are at least 100 people who have shown interest, but they do not want to take the trouble in finding a place and setting up a community they want to move in when everything is setup

  13. Namaste,
I visited nagtibba in uttarakhand last month and loved the place. Stayed at a place called The goat village. Came across many places where i wished we could build a community.
Unfortunately because of my responsibilities and financial limitations i cannot travel as much as i would like to. What i cannot understand is why are the villagers in uttarakhand migrating to other places in search of livelihood. Can't they already have a community to be self -sufficient and sustainable?

    1. villagers leaving their birth place is a very complex issue

  14. Namaste,

Can you please elaborate on the above point? There has to be a solution which they can work out. The goat village about which I have mentioned above was set up for the purpose of reverse migration. To bring back the villagers to their village and give them livelihood. It is actually a guest house with a few cottages. Although i believe an ideal village community should be self sufficient without any need of help from outsiders like us who come for a few days to be with nature.
